Here's a round-up of events held in Albany every year. 

January 

Middleton Beach Festival. Join this week-long festival with an abundance of events to keep the whole family entertained, including Australia Day celebrations. March

Albany Pride Festival - 3-12 March 2023. One of Western Australia’s biggest regional Pride Festivals, bringing together the Queer and Allied community from Albany/Kinjarling and beyond. www.albanypridefestival.com.au

April 

First Lights: Binalup - 8 April 2023. The sky will light up with this spectacular drone light show from 6pm at Binalup / Middleton Beach. 

CinefestOZ - 27-30 April 2023. Celebrate the very best in Australian film. More information at the official website.

May

Taste Great Southern - 4-14 May 2023. With long lunches, degustations, premium pairings, festivals, community markets, free events, award winning wine, fantastic local produce, amazing chefs and more. See more on the official website.

Mother's Day Classic - 14 May 2023An annual run/walk event raising funds and awareness for breast cancer. Everyone is welcome and you can find more information here.

June

Banff Mountain Film Festival - 1 June 2023. Visit the Facebook event page for more information. 

Albany Classic "Around the Houses"  and the Mt Clarence Hill Climb - 3-4 June 2023 (June long weekend). This re-enactment of the original "Around the Houses" event will see over 150 vintage and classic cars competing in a race around the Albany CBD. This is in conjunction with a fun family festival featuring market stalls, food, kids activities and live entertainment. Get your tickets here (when available) and remember to book your accommodation with us well in time. 

June, July, August & September

Whale Watching season - from late May to early October, our area is visited by Humpback and Southern Right Whales, with the occasional sighting of Blue Whales and Orcas. See our Whale Watching page for information on local whale watching charter companies, so you can get you close to the whales whilst still respecting and protecting these gentle giants. 

Wildflower seasonExperience the enchanting beauty of wildflower season in Albany, Western Australia. As spring paints the landscape with vibrant colours, the region comes alive with a dazzling array of native wildflowers, creating a picturesque backdrop for exploration and photography. Immerse yourself in nature's own masterpiece as you discover a tapestry of blooms along walking trails and in pristine natural reserves.

September

Annual Orchid Spring Show - 7-9 Sep 2023. Taking place at the North Road Shopping Centre, including orchids for sale and plenty of plant care advice.

Southern Peaks Mountain Bike - 23 & 24 Sep 2023. This mountain biking event includes Jump Fest, Pump Track & XCMVisit the event website here.

Albany Show & Shine - 23 & 24 Sep 2023.  Annual Supercruise and Poker Run on the Saturday. Indoor Auto Show & Shine on Sunday at Centennial Pavilion, Sunday 10am-3pm $10pp entry, kids under 12 free with an adult.

Go for 2&5 Albany Kite Fiesta 2023 - Sun, 24 Sep 2023. Venue: Anzac Peace Park. Join Michael and Jan Alvares of Kite Kinetics and Green Skills for kite making and kite flying fun. Watch the skies for the giant kites!

Albany International Folk’n Shanty Festival - 29 Sep to 1st Oct 2023 - celebrating international maritime folk music and history.  See the Facebook event page here. 

October

Green Fair on the Square - 21 Oct 2023. Venue: Albany Town Square. The City of Albany's sustainability festival is back again, with a whole range of fun and interesting things to learn and do!

November

Albany Agricultural Show - 10-11 Nov 2023. A great day out for families! Get more details on the official website.

December

Christmas Festival and Pageant - early December. Town Square, Alison Hartman Gardens & York Street. Check for updates on the City of Albany website hereAlbany’s CBD will come alive with a fun-filled afternoon of entertainment, live music, market stalls and family orientated activities in the Town Square and Alison Hartman Gardens that centres around the traditional Christmas pageant on the main street of Albany.

New Years Eve Picnic and Fireworks. New Year’s Eve celebrations will kick off at the Anzac Peace Park at 5pm with a line-up of local live music and fireworks taking place at the family friendly time of 9pm only. Get more information and updates on the City of Albany events page here.
