About Us
Luke Shuttleworth and his family purchased BIG4 Emu Beach Holiday Park in July 2014. Since purchasing the park Luke has, with the help of his dad, a team of reliable dedicated staff, and some mates pitching in, given the park a massive face lift with still more to come in future years.
2014 – Our winter season saw the full renovation of 10 major Chalets and Villas inside and out, bringing them into the 21st century.
2015 – Our winter season saw the full renovation of a further 6 Chalets and the implementation of improvements to our family friendly Holiday Homes.
2016 – Kicking off in early March, we commenced the removal of 8 Park Cabins in front of reception and a total redesign to create 6 large double-slab Powered Sites and an ideal grass area for a future new playground. Upgrades continued with the removal and relocation of some of our permanent residents into a new area designed specifically for their privacy and comfort. This resulted another 12 Powered Sites and large slabbed sites for caravans and campers. The biggest job of 2016 was the demolition and rebuild of one of our amenities block. The new amenities block saw the addition of our private family and accessible bathrooms, ensuring families and the disabled have less stress at bath time. The clean, modern amenities block has received an enthusiastic response from visitors and guests.
2017 – Another big year followed with multiple projects on the go, the biggest of all being the rebuild and renovation of our reception area. The renovation creates a warmer, more inviting start to your holiday and reflects our welcoming attitude and pride in our work. 2017 also saw the removal and rebuild of 10 of our most popular sites; replacing them with double slab/shade-cloth sites, new lawns, and reticulation. The most exciting and popular revamp in 2017 was the redesign of our 9-hole mini golf course and surrounding gardens. Our amazing gardeners, Al and Ben, spent months planning and designing the course and gardens to work with the area ensuring that the existing trees and raw beauty remains intact to create a fun and welcoming environment for families to enjoy.
2018 & 2019 – Saw a year to reflect and spend time on touch up projects and give our other amenity block a paint and freshen up. We also re-slabbed some sites and starting replacing some shadecloth sites as well.
2020 - What a year for everyone. With some park redevelopment plans scrapped thanks to COVID-19, we closed the park on 1st April not knowing how long we would be closed. Thankfully we opened the door again on 25th May and saw a busy June Long weekend and rest of the year was crazy busy with West Australians travelling inside their own state.
2021 - The entire team at BIG4 Emu Beach Holiday Park strive to keep up with the times and continue delivering modern facilities and accommodation. Watch this space for changes to the park in 2021 and 2022.
Check back for more exciting upgrades and changes and we hope to see you soon
