Here's a round-up of events held in Albany every year. (Dates are updated as they become available).

January

Binalup/Middleton Beach Festival. Join this week-long festival with an abundance of events to keep the whole family entertained, including Australia Day celebrations. Other fun things include farmers markets, live music, face painting, competitions, scavenger hunt and so much more!  Get more information and updates on the City of Albany events page here

February

Albany Pride Festival - Multiple Dates Between Thursday 20th February 2025 & Monday 3rd March 2025.

March

Albany Ralleysprint - at Middleton Beach on Monday 3rd March – 9.00am to 4.00pm.

May

Taste Great Southern - 5–8 March 2026. With long lunches, degustations, premium pairings, festivals, community markets, free events, award winning wine, fantastic local produce, amazing chefs and more.

Banff Mountain Film Festival - 10 May 2025 at the Albany Entertainment Centre.

Albany Classic "Around the Houses"  and the Mt Clarence Hill Climb - 30 & 31 May 2026 (June long weekend). This re-enactment of the original "Around the Houses" event will see over 150 vintage and classic cars competing in a race around the Albany CBD. This is in conjunction with a fun family festival featuring market stalls, food, kids activities and live entertainment. June, July, August & September

Whale Watching season - from late May to early October, our area is visited by Humpback and Southern Right Whales, with the occasional sighting of Blue Whales and Orcas. See our Whale Watching page for information on local whale watching charter companies, so you can get you close to the whales whilst still respecting and protecting these gentle giants. 

Wildflower seasonExperience the enchanting beauty of wildflower season in Albany, Western Australia. As spring paints the landscape with vibrant colours, the region comes alive with a dazzling array of native wildflowers, creating a picturesque backdrop for exploration and photography. Immerse yourself in nature's own masterpiece as you discover a tapestry of blooms along walking trails and in pristine natural reserves.

Maritime Festival - every July. This festival features an exciting lineup of events, from live music to art exhibitions, film screenings, markets, and activities for children like hunting for treasure. Visit the City of Albany website here for updates.

CinefestOZ - 30 August - 7 September 2025. Celebrate the very best in Australian film.

September

Annual Orchid Spring Show - every September, including orchids for sale and plenty of plant care advice.

October

Southern Art & Craft Trail - 27 September to 12 October 2025. Western Australia’s premier regional arts event, showcasing the talents of more than 500 artists across 63 venues throughout the Great Southern and surrounding regions. More information -

November

December

Christmas Festival and Pageant - every December. Town Square, Alison Hartman Gardens & York Street. Check for updates on the City of Albany website hereAlbany’s CBD will come alive with a fun-filled afternoon of entertainment, live music, market stalls and family orientated activities in the Town Square and Alison Hartman Gardens that centres around the traditional Christmas pageant on the main street of Albany.

New Years Eve Picnic and Fireworks. New Year’s Eve celebrations usually kick off at the Anzac Peace Park at 5pm with a line-up of local live music and fireworks taking place at the family friendly time of 9pm only. Get more information and updates on the City of Albany events page here.
