Where can I find BBQs in the park?

There are many BBQs located throughout the park, including our large covered BBQ are in lane 12. It has a large fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster with sink and 3 BBQs for al fresco dining. Please do not leave BBQ’s unattended whilst in use. Please be respectful to other park guests and clean up as best you can after using the BBQ’s.

What are the bathroom and shower facilities?

Each accommodation has their own bathroom facilities. Guests on Powered and Unpowered sites have use of our park amenities located on lane 2 and lane 8. Each block consists of Men’s and Ladies facilities. Amenity block on lane 8 in addition to Men’s and Ladies facilities has a Disabled and Family Bathroom.

The Accessible Bathroom is equipped with rails, shower seat and hand-held shower hose. The Family Bathroom has a full-size shower and bath, as well as baby bath and changing station. All bathrooms are pin code locked for your safety and codes are issued at reception on arrival. Guests who require access to Disabled and Family Bathroom, please advise staff on check-in as these are differently coded to Men’s and Ladies and are not issued to all guests.

Where is the closest beach access?

There are 4 access points to the beach from the park. Just outside our main entry, end of lane 2, end of lane 8 and at the rear of the park off lane 15. These are marked on our park map for your convenience. Easiest access due to some beach erosion is from the front entry and rear gate.

What is the bike and scooter policy?

For all guests to experience an enjoyable, injury free stay we ask you please adhere to the following rules whilst riding bikes and scooters in the park. Please refer to the Bikes, Scooter & Children Policy here.

Can I bring a boat to BIG4 Emu Beach?

If you are bringing a boat for your stay with us, please notify reception at the time of booking or at earliest convenience as we have minimal parking/storage available in the park. During busier periods, we may not be able to fit the boat into the park, but can recommend off-site storage options if need be.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in for all bookings is from 2pm. If accommodations or sites are ready before this time, we will send guests an SMS to the mobile number on their booking to advise early availability. Early check-ins can be arranged upon booking but are subject to availability and can not be guaranteed.

Check-out time is strictly by 10am. If you require a late check-out, please enquire at reception at least a minimum 24 hours prior to your departure. This is subject to availability.

How are children supervised in the park?

Children are the responsibility of parent/guardians to supervise at all times. It is not the responsibility of park staff to monitor children within the grounds or facilities.

How does the DVD hire work?

DVD hire is available for all park guests at reception. Hire time is for entirety of your stay if you wish. Costing is $5 for 1 DVD, $8 for 2 DVD, $10 for 3 DVD. If you are a BIG4 Member with Perks+ card, we offer 1/2 price DVD hire.

Where are the dump points located?

For all caravan & campers who have their own amenities on board, your toilet waste can be disposed at these points. Each dump point is located behind each amenity block on lane 2 and lane 8. There is also a hose at each point to allow for cleaning. Please refrain from disposing of sanitary pads and nappies into the dump point as this causes blockages. We have sanitary bins in the ladies toilets and nappies can be disposed of in the general waste rubbish bins. Please place them in a plastic bag first to keep them contained.

What should I do for an early departure?

If you need to check-out prior to reception opening time of 8am, please ensure your account is settled the day before departure. Keys can be placed in the drop box at reception front door. We do not offer refunds for early departures.

What is the emergency and evacuation plan?

An emergency and evacuation plan map can be found inside each accommodation and public park buildings. The main muster point is in the cul-de-sac of our main entry off Medcalf Parade.

What is the park policy on eviction?

During any point of your stay, we do reserve the right to evict any guest from the park should they exhibit unacceptable or inappropriate behaviours. No refunds will be given.

What is the park policy on eviction?

For your health and safety, all rooms are fitted with smoke detector alarms. If alarm sounds signalling fire, please evacuate room immediately leaving possessions behind and assemble at the emergency muster point in Medcalf Parade. Accommodations, Camp Kitchens and Laundries are equipped with fire blankets. Camp Kitchens, Laundries and other public park buildings are fitted with fire extinguishers. There are also multiple fire hoses throughout the park.

Are fires or generators permitted?

Fires & Generators of any kind are NOT permitted in the park at any time.

Are there fish cleaning facilities available?

Cleaning and preparing of fish etc is not permitted in the park. Facilities are available at Emu Point Marina off Swarbrick Street, just 1 minute from the park.

Can I get gas refills at the park?

Guests can have their gas bottles refilled on-site between 8:30am and 5:30pm while grounds staff are on duty. Bottles must be less than 10 years on date check and all charges payable at reception.

What are the rules for the jumping pillows?

Please read through all the rules posted at the jumping pillow before use. Children under 12 must be supervised by adults. Use of the pillow when wet is strictly prohibited. No shoes, bikes, scooters etc or anything sharp to be on or near the pillows please.

  • Opening hours are 8.00am - 7.00pm for the new pillow (in front of the new Rec Room, at the entrance of the park) and 9am to 6pm for the original pillow (next to the Theatre Room). 

Is there a Kids Club during school holidays?

Kids Club is available Monday to Friday during most school holidays. Planners are available from reception at check-in and all bookings are done online. This information will be attached with the planner and is also available on our Kids Club page on our website.

What should I do for a late arrival?

If you are arriving after 8pm when reception closes, please contact us to advise in advance so we can initiate after-hours check-in procedures.

What laundry facilities are available?

We have 2 laundry rooms with washing machines, dryers and sinks located at the rear of each amenity block on lane 2 or 8. Machines are coin operated with $1 coins. Washing Machines are $5 per load (30-40min cycle) and Dryers are $1 for 10 minutes. Change can be acquired at reception (cash for cash only) as well as laundry powder. Clothes lines are also located outside each laundry.

What is the policy regarding loss and damages?

Guests are responsible for any damage they cause whilst staying in the park. We are unable to accept any responsibility for any damage or theft to guests’ personal belongings including motor vehicles and contents. Please ensure vehicles are securely locked and bikes/equipment are secure at all times. Just because you are on holidays, doesn’t mean thieves are.

How is lost property handled?

Any property left behind in accommodations will be contacted immediately after housekeeping find items left. We will then organise collection or postage with guests. All other lost property lost in the park if found/handed in is kept on-site for 1 month.

How can I play mini-golf?

Mini-golf is available for park guests for a $5 per person cash bond or driver's license. These can be hired from reception between 8:30am-6pm (5pm in winter) and we ask they be returned after your game so others can play. 

What are the rules for noise and quiet times?

While we want you to have fun and enjoy your stay, please be aware of the impact your noise and music may have on your neighbours and other residents and ask you keep it to a low level that doesn’t travel to others. Quiet time in the park is 10pm until 7am. Any after hours noise concerns can be dealt with by calling South-Coast Security 0417-964-102. Any police attendance may result in possible eviction. Please enjoy your stay but please be mindful of other park guests.

What do I need to do on departure?

Check-out time is by 10am. Should you require a late check-out, please contact reception well in advance of your departure date – baring in mind this will be subject to availability.

What are the parking rules at the park?

Parking is available for each site/accommodation, with strictly 1 vehicle per site/accommodation only. All accommodation parking is numbered outside or nearby each room. Sites must be able to fit their vehicle next to or in front of their equipment without encroaching on neighbours or roads.

When are payments and deposits required?

All bookings require a deposit at the time of booking. No booking is confirmed without a deposit. All accounts are to be paid and finalised on check-in.

Are pedal karts available for hire?

Pedal karts are a fun way to explore the park and cycleway to Emu Point and are available for hire from reception. Helmets must be worn at all times by children. Someone over 18 years old must sight and sign hire terms and conditions before hiring. Please see the Pedal Karts page for more information.

Is the park pet friendly?

We offer pet-friendly options for our caravan and camping guests. Please refer to our Pet Policy page here for further information.

How is the phone reception in Albany?

Telstra is the best network for Albany being a regional town. Optus is ok also inside the Albany area, but not in the outskirts. Other networks may have issues unless in the town city centre.

What playground facilities are available?

Our pirate themed nature playground is available on lane 5 for the children to let their imaginations run wild and laugh and fun. There are swings, slides, monkey bars, climbing equipment all to keep the kids busy.

What are the reception hours?

  • Main hours are 8am to 8pm every day.
  • Winter hours - 8am to 7pm every day in June, July and August (excluding the July School Holidays which are 8am to 8pm).
  • Summer holidays - 8am to 9pm every day. Closed on Christmas Day.

What is in the Recreation Room?

The Rec Room features fun activities like a coin-operated pool table and arcade games, a ping pong table, along with a guest lounge and a play gym for the little ones aged up to 6 years.

  • Open daily from 8am-8pm at the park entrance. 
  • Coin operated pool tables - $2 coin to play. 
  • Arcade games x 2 - $1 coins to play
  • Ping pong table available. 

How should I handle rubbish and recycling?

Please place your rubbish in appropriate bins where possible please. General rubbish is to be placed in all green bins and recycling to be placed in the bins with yellow lids. Please encourage others to follow suit and try to reduce, reuse and recycle where we can.

What security measures are in place?

Please make sure all windows and doors are locked when leaving the park. Management do not accept responsibility for lost or stolen items. Any after-hours concerns, please contact South-Coast Security on 0417-964-102.

Is there a shop on-site?

We do have a basic grocery, drink, ice cream and confectionary selection available at reception between 8am – 8pm (9pm during summer).

What are the rules for smoking?

Whilst we allow smoking in the park grounds, it is strictly prohibited in all our accommodations and public park facility buildings at all times. We encourage smokers to be respectful of other park guests and be mindful of their smoke. Guests found smoking or evidence of smoking in accommodations will be charged a $250 cleaning fee. Please dispose of all butts into outside rubbish bins after ensuring fully extinguished.

What is the park speed limit?

The speed limit throughout the park is strictly 5km per hour – walking pace only at all times.

How is the TV and satellite reception?

TV reception is available in the park for those on sites. TV aerials need to face North West towards Mt Barker. Satellites should face North/North East. All accommodations have TV and DVD players and have access to all free to air channels only.

Is there WiFi at the park?

There is free unlimited WiFi for our guests and you can get details from Reception. Please note that the local area data speed is suitable for social media and emails, but unfortunately is not able to handle streaming services such as Netflix.

Can I have day visitors at the park?

Please read the Day Visitor Policy here. All visiting vehicles must park outside the park and register their attendance at reception with the guest. Please note, day visitors wishing to use the facilities will be required to pay a day-use fee.
